Workflows – Installation and Configuration

24 Jul
AX 2009 has come up with Workflows. Its a bit late though but I got time to upload and write this article now. I have created a document which helps in installation and configuration of the workflows. My earlier article was regarding development of workflows. I intend to create a small document for that as well.

Will do that once I get some time. But here is a link to the document for workflows configuration and installation.

if you are creating a workflow for a module that doesnt already have Configuration part, then you need to create a Configuration form and add it in Setup folder.

The workflow document is just a guide to create a new workflow requirement that you may have. It depends on the way a company wants to setup workflow and then decide if you can configure the workflow that way with an existing one or you will need a new one.

You get such errors if the Dynamics AX Workflow site is not configured properly or is not accessible. You can check the Event Viewer. In Event Viewer there is a custom log for Microsoft Dynamics AX Workflow. There you can find more information regarding the errors. That will be of great help. Event Viewer can be found from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools.
